WHat do you think about school dances?

Ok I love school dances for a few reasons. I like dressing up sometimes and hanging with my friends. Normally the decorations and lights are beautiful and it's just a nice change since I am a pretty mellow quiet person. So I never party really. But I think school dancing play to much rap and stuff. I mean yeah that's mainstream but teachers get so angry when people are grinding and all that but I mean what to they expect? Rap music and grinding are like a package deal. Im not saying getting rid of rap completely is the way to go because some people do like that stuff and people do have a good time "dancing" to it. But I think there should be SOME variety. There are so many great songs out there that you can actually dance to without being dirty about it. PLus as a rock and alternative fan myself, It would be a lot more fun having music that is new and interesting. It would also give other students a chance to be introduced to some new music that they wouldnt have even dreamed of liking. I dont get why schools dont do that. I mean I'm ranting, but wouldnt it help everyone if dances did that? i am sure more people would go to them if there was something for everybody, and more tickets would be sold meaning more money for the school budget. Anyway, what do you think about this? I wish I knew of a way to contribute this idea to the school but im not quite sure who to bring it up to.
